Alisha & Chris | Rockford, IL Wedding Photography

Chris and Alisha's wedding last Saturday continued an amazing string of phenomenal weather for weddings. Normally, I would say i just jinxed myself but looking at the forecast for tomorrow's wedding shows 82 degrees and sunny, so I'm confident on the streak staying alive, ha! But back to Alisha & Chris...

When the weather is fantastic, and your backyard ends in a gorgeous park like Chris and Alisha's, well you know you don't have to go far for your wedding. Chris is a very well known face around Rockford, especially when it comes to championing downtown Rockford and the River district, so it was also very fitting that the reception was held at the wonderful Prairie Street Brewhouse, on the banks of the Rock river in the heart of downtown. And when you add in the fact that Alisha and I attended the same high school, (SVHS FOR LIFE!) it means there was a great mix of familiar faces in the crowd as well as new ones. Alisha and Chris are a ton of fun, as you'll see from the photos. And anytime a bride volunteers to climb a 12' ladder, you know it's been a great day.

Laura & Josh | Rockford Wedding Photography

I first had the opportunity to get to know Laura and Josh last fall when I shot their engagement photos around the Belvidere and Rockford area. We had a great time, and when they just laughed off a little "wardrobe malfunction" that happened and kept right on rolling with the shoot, I had a great feeling that they were going to be a ton o' fun to work with at their wedding.

Flash forward nearly one year, and boy was I right. These two did not stop smiling, laughing, and just generally having a great time together from the second they first saw each other at Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford all the way through the reception at Mauh-nah-tee-see Country Club. It's great to work with a couple that's obviously so much in love. But enough words...here's some photos from the day:

Stacie & Adam | Rockford Wedding Photography

Why hello there blog, it's been a while. It's not you, it's me. You see, I've been so busy photographing all these spectacular weddings that I have neglected you, my photoblog. I'll try not to let it happen again, but please try to see things from my perspective, my dear blog...it's hard to make time for the blog when I'm out having fun like this all the time:

These few images are just a peek from Stacie & Adam's wedding this past weekend that I was fortunate enough to be asked to shoot with Brian Milo. Thanks Brian! It's great to photograph so many Rockford weddings, and it's also refreshing to get to shoot a wedding somewhere else - like Chicagoland for Stacie and Adam's wedding . The couple first met at Willow Brook High School so it seemed only right to have a little photo shoot there. More from this wedding soon. I promise, blog...

Nicci & Corey | Rockford Wedding Phohotgrapher

One of the things I really love about photographing weddings is there's always so much more to it than just taking photos. Sometimes I'm a little bit of a wedding coordinator, sometimes an emcee, sometimes a stage director, nerve steadier...tie-tier...cake cutting trainer....this list goes on. But when I arrived at Corey & Nicci's wedding to find the girls all huddled in a small room hiding from a nesting bat, I unexpectedly got to add "Bat Removal Specialist" to my resume. And since the bridesmaids referred to me and my second photographer as "Batman and Robin" for the rest of the day, I'm going to add "Superhero" as well. Ha!

From that moment on I knew this was going to be a fun group.

Anyway...here's a few photos from Nicci and Corey's ceremony at United Methodist Church in Roscoe, reception at Mauh-nah-tee-see Country Club in Rockford, and I quick stop in downtown Rockford.
